... I'm back to listening to you. 'Cause I need some RROOAAARGGGGHHH in my life right now. Was looking for some background and/or inspirational music for writing and remembered those bands I used to listen to about a decade ago, up until recent years. I barely have anything other then my ex's club and pop songs on this laptop, although have about 4gbyte of my own music on my old pc which is still in the loft. On thurdsay morning I remembered that i have some of them on cds as well. Ohmegosshhh. I haven't listened to one of my all time favourite songs for years but it is still as good as ever - Jester Race, from In Flames. NOT a mainstream track, at all (guttural vocals. Yeah, like Batman singing.) But i love it, that was the song which got me into heavier metal.
The other song which gave me goosebumps just as it did years ago: Alone, from Amorphis. I think i'll have to put that on my official TOP 5. So, currently on my playlist, in no particular order:
In Flames - Black Ash Inheritance / Jester race albums
Amorphis - AM Universum album
Apocalyptica - selected songs, mostly their own stuff
Metallica - Whiskey in the Jar, just to cheer up the mood
Already feel some Rammstein and Dimmu Borgir coming along the road. Maybe with a bit of Stratovarious and Sonata Arctica thrown in just to have some finns in there too.

wtf?!
The new Linkin Park song, Catalyst. Its cool up until 1:18, when it should be kicking in, but instead... would've been a hit 15 years ago at a mayday, i guess? First time i heard i just couldn't stop laughing. Straaange stuff. :P
New album comes out on my birthday (14 september) better be something better!!

Like it / Like it not - Szeretem / nem szeretem
Like it: my Symphony interchangable needle tips, size 3.25mm. I bought these only because i wanted to try wooden needles. Originally didn't liked them, i was constatly afraid that the tips will get chipped off, the needle will broke in the middle, i didn't liked the colours, they were much slower then the metal needles... But in the course of the last year, i ended up using these a lots of times even when i started with different sizes or on plastic needles. I just keep ending up working with these and now i'm fairly sure they wont broke just buy holding them. I made some of my biggest knitting accomplishments with these, an Aeolian and a Swallowtail lace shawl, among other projects.Good old tools which slowly but surely worked themselves into being one of my core knitting necessities.
Like it not: garter stitch. I'm all right with them as edging as they stop the fabric from rolling but as an all-around stitch, row after row, i just can't stand it. Soooo slow, and i have to fight to get the tip of the needle under the loop at every stitch... Guess would be less bad with a looser tension but i'm a tight knitter. So, for now, no garter stitch blankies and squares. I'll stick to lace :)
Like it: AC/DC. A couple of years back my brother and me asked our mum what kind of music did she listened to when she was our age. We both are no-mainstream, me liking heavy metal and world music and my bro liking punk, and we knew our dad liked pop-rock and she was in high school '72-76, in the height of abba and boney-m, so we wondered if it just us gone astray... Her answer: "Well, i liked stuff like ac/dc, led zeppelin and such". Both our jaws dropped. She grew like 4 inches in the eyes of my brother and we went "Ahaa!!! So it's a genetic thing. Not our fault!" Something genetic must be in it as our closest cousin - who is first cousin on both sides, yeah crazy family we are - is also into hard rock. Blame the parents :D
Like it not: i spent way too much money on yarn in the last two months. I barely bought anything in january and february, and now i'm falling over the other side of the horse (or what's the expression.) I think i spent between a hundred and hundred and fifty pounds. I dont wast to count it 'coz i'm afraid i'd end up something even closer to two hundred. At least i love all of them, everything i bought :)

Input
"Törékeny dolgok" avagy Neil Gaiman "egypercesek". Azért kellett megvennem, mert van benne egy darab novella Shadow-val (az Amerikai istenek-ből), de amúgy is megvettem volna előbb-utóbb, mert Gaiman. Uff.Fragile Things, aka Neil Gaiman One minute Stories (after the Örkény One Minute Stories). I had to buy it 'coz it has a novell with Shadow (from American Gods), but i would've bought it anyways as it is a Gaiman book. 'nuff said.
"Csillagok és bolygók rövid kalauza". Nem jöhettem ki egy könyvvel ha már egyszer a vízkövekben jártam (Waterstones a könyvesbolt-hálózat neve. Mint a Libri meg az Alexandra.) Szép színes, kevés szöveggel, mert kellett egy ilyen kis könyv csillagászat témában is, hogy ne a netet kelljen bújnom emiatt is. Túlságosan függök a wikipédián.
A Concise Guide to the Stars and Planets. I couldn't just leave Watersones with only one book. Nice colourful with lots of pictures and not much text, i needed a little book in astronomy too so i don't have to search the net every time i have a question on this topic. I use wikipedia way too often.
Most már jobban értem.
Sam pedig ugyanolyan vagány mint mindig :)
Plus i get three books about indians from the library, for reading paralell with Amercian Gods reading #2. It's a bit strange now, as for the first reeding i found it a bit too slow. Maybe that was because i slipped over things i did not understand what the reference means / i did not know it is a reference at all / it was a hint for later events, and now knowing the plot i understand it.
Also i just couldnt bring myself to like Laura - i respected her for what her deeds after her death (yuck) but just didn't get what had she do with Shadow before. Now i understand her better. Sam's still cool as ever :)

Zene:
Republic: Tüzet viszek album, különösen a Varázsolj a szívemmel és a Játsz egy kicsit a tűzzel. Felváltva.
Music:
Republic: "I'm carrying fire" - especially the songs hm how to translate... "Make magic using my heart" and "Play a little with the fire".
I don't know about any official or unofficial translations about the band into english... It's a hungarian folk-rock band, something like the irish The Corrs just more rock-ish. Not as much as Korpiklaani though :) They are (or at least were at a few years back) quite popular, had more big chart hits, the biggest probably "Fly away little bird" - it's a cute silly little song, everyone sung that :)

Magyar - Hungarian
Valamelyik nap bóklásztam a jutúbon és találtam néhány érdekes dolgot. Pl ezt:
The other day i was surfing on youtube and fund this:
(It's a hungarian folksong performed with nearly perfect pronunciation; i recon when foreigners ask us to sing something in hungarian, we usually choose this. It's like Auld lang syne for the british i guess :) )
Aztán meghallgattam őt - Egyházi Géza; anyu kedvenc musical-énekese.
After that i listened him - he is Géza Egyházi (erm... no, i cant write out how to pronunce it in english...) ; he is my mum's favourite musical singer.
(The aria is from the opera Bank ban, title is My homeland, my homeland and it's a very famous and beloved patriotic song for hungarians. Very easy to sing badly, very moving when sing well.)
And afterwards that József Simándy about whom mum always says that Egyházi is a good singer, but will never beat him at this song.
Már értem.
Now i understand.

Well i can't write about crations them being much longer to do than just reading/listening/watching...
Watched: Harry Potter and the chamber of Secrets. My least favourite amongs the hp books, and probably among the movies too. Lockhart is a great character, but annoying nevertheless, as is the whole story with all the backlashes of fame and a nasty reptile going around. ok, since the sixth book i look it a bit differently too, but still. Anyways, done, watched, let's proceed to the next one :)
Listening: Guns'n'Roses: Use Your Illusion II. Oh my. Almost forgot how cool this band is, 'specially this album. Ususally i listen to more harder music ( not rock, but metal) but lately they have a depressing effect on me, so Guns' is the right for me now. Still has great gitar stuff, is rock, and is postive.
On an interesting note, a few years back, i met up a coiple of kids at a Tolkien meeting who were 5-7 years my junior. And when i heard a guns' song in the radio, and said, hey, listen! they didn't even know this band existed! Crazy. But two years later, i run into a few of them, in a middle of an In Flames concert. So i guess they aren't lost completly :)
(Will be) reading: Jane Austen: Persuasion. Bought it on saturday for 20 p, and even started to write a post from that (day) but then we went out to cinema so its unfinished. I cant decide if its alright to post something out of order/dated back... anyways, i'm looking forward for the book, coz unlike Sense ans Sensibility, i did not read or see it in any form before, i dont know anything about the book aside of who wrote it.
